Right from the start I knew this was going to be a powerful episode. I loved the way it began showing a glimpse of Welkin and Alicia in a standoff with an Imperial soldier and then recounting the events that took place before it happened. Once Welkin and Alicia found themselves in the cabin and confronted by the soldier, the human side of this war becomes even more apparent than ever. Alicia especially makes this clear when she is much more concerned about treating the soldiers’ wounds rather than taking him out. Despite her best efforts though he still dies but not before sharing his last few words with them by getting their names and giving him his and requesting them to remember that he was once alive. Very powerful stuff.

This episode also developed Alicia and Welkin a bit more. Alicia revealed that she was once an orphan as well. It was also pretty interesting (and funny) that Alicia was the one who made the first move when they were all cozy together near the fire and wrapped up in that blanket. Even more interesting (and surprising) was that Welkin actually freaked and got pretty nervous. So he is a normal guy after all!
