Naruto – Ch. 486

Leon: I just KNEW Naruto was going to pull this “YOU ARE MY FRIEND” nonsense. Some part of me wanted to think that perhaps Kishimoto was going to have things become even more serious between the former Team 7. After all, Sasuke has tried to kill Sakura twice in a span of 2-3 chapters and has said more than once he’s going to kill everyone. But of course not. Naruto is stupid and isn’t likely going to become any smarter. No one else is going to fight Sasuke but him? Seriously? Grow up, man. The so-called destined fight is feeling too forced now.

Youko: I already knew one of them had to die to end the series. So if both die, that’ll just make things go by a lot quicker. I don’t feel up to how this fight goes just yet.

Bleach – Ch. 395

Leon: I figured that Kubo would find some way to sideline Old man Yama. Who would have thought it’d be because of his own sealed flames, eh? Anyway, at least he got to get in a good final(?) blow on Aizen before passing out. I’m pretty sure that Aizen felt that one even if he was burned for a few seconds. That’s what he gets for being an arrogant douche 24/7 I guess. The second most awesome panel of the chapter though is when he discovers that Ichigo is suddenly above him and ready to strike him down. So he finally decides to move! Though he’s probably not going to be successful if only because Gin is still watching around and, of course, Aizen’s hax is still intact.

Youko: Yamamoto sure did have Kidou on him! Looks like he dealt major damage to Wonderweiss. This really can’t go on much longer, but it’s Bleach, so yeah. So it seems Ichigo was standing there just to power up his Hollow form. Why no one bothered to do anything about it, who knows, but if he gets in on Aizen successfully (that’s a big if) then I can only hope it’s concluded sooner.

One Piece – Ch. 577

Leon: What the hell is this, Oda? Madness after madness built upon madness? Whitebeard is dead and to add insult to injury Blackbeard pulls some crazy stunt under a black sheet that not only leaves him with his own devil fruit power intact but now he had Whitebeard’s gura-gura fruit power? You have got to be kidding me here. How is it possible for him to have two fruit powers? Oda better explain this soon. At the very least we finally have the final villain of One Piece take center stage. This means that Luffy better get to working on that King’s power.

Hunter x Hunter – Ch. 300

Gene: It’s good to see that the focus has moved on from the cannibal orgy of the previous chapter to Gon’s location. All of the good guys have been reunited with this chapter and it’s funny that after all the hell they’ve been through all three Royal Guards and the King still remain. The road ahead is still a long one. But for now, the blind chick is fully recovered and Gon is still scaring the shit out of Pitou. I love seeing this side of Gon as it’s a complete opposite from the child-like persona we are all used to. I’m not sure what to expect out of Kaito’s revival, but I do know that if Pitou is unable to do it that shit is going to hit the fucking fan and I can’t wait to see it.

Katekyou Hitman Reborn! – Ch. 281

Leon: I don’t really have much to say about this chapter. Byakuran is dead and the Arcabaleno have revived. With their revival comes the restoration of the other parallel worlds that were affected by Byakuran’s influence. That pretty much means that Uni guaranteed mass world resets. Hmm…she was and still is an adorable cutie so I’ll let the deus ex machina slip for now. I felt a little bad for Byakuran’s remaining lackey though. He’s pretty much screwed. Oh well, time to return to the past!

PSYREN – Ch. 110

Leon: The time to return to the future has come! I’ve been waiting for this to happen and it looks like Yoshina, Amamiya, and even Kabuto are ready for some action. Yoshina’s obviously grown even stronger than he was before, Amamiya has received a new sword that’s enchanted, and even Kabuto seems to have powered up to some degree. Now we’ll get to see them put their new levels of power to use. Though it seems Kabuto may be in a bit of trouble already. I wonder if something changed in the future?

Bakuman – Ch. 77

Youko: Yet another bold chapter and it feels like Saiko’s made up his mind considerably on the matter. I really really loved the scene with his conversing with Azuki over the phone. It’s the first time in a while since they’ve chatted about something and this really strengthens the relationship between the two. I don’t think Azuki actually approved per se, but she did believe she would do the same thing if she were in Saiko’s shoes. That’s the sweetheart Azuki for you. Saiko did the right thing by calling her. The most powerful point was probably the end when Hattori finally gave Saiko the answer he wanted all along. Now this will begin a certain ordeal with Shuujin.

Leon: So Saiko is still raging about wanting to quit Tanto. I can understand what he’s saying but he needs to relax. Interestingly enough he still hasn’t told Shuujin but it’s only a matter of time, especially after hearing what Hattori had to say. It’s a good thing that Azuki told him to wait until after the honeymoon too. He probably would have gone ahead and tried to talk about it before the ceremony. No man wants that kind of worry on his brain before such an event. I gotta say though, Kaya was breathtakingly beautiful in this chapter. Easily the best highlight of the chapter for me.

Beelzebub – Ch. 52

Leon: This Miki guy is kind of odd. I thought he was going to try and fight Furuichi or something but he just gave him a warning (that was extended to Oga as well). He seems a lot more kindhearted at the moment but who knows if that will change. I’m getting really curious about their past together. The bit with Aoi and Oga versus those two other Rokkisei members was pretty decent. That guy thought Aoi was a noob but she sure showed him by showing that she could draw even faster than he could. I doubt they’re going to really fight but I’m looking forward to seeing what happens nonetheless.

Medaka Box – Ch. 40

Leon: You know, oddly enough, despite Naze’s face being an apparent total wreck…her body is pretty much an 11/10. The artist made that very much clear in this chapter with the blatant panty-shots. Anyway, Koga’s story was rather normal but had an abnormal ending to it. See what I did there?! Right, moving along: Akune doesn’t really seem to have a chance here even if he was once called the Destroyer. You can’t exactly destroy someone who can heal themselves completely in 10 seconds. Well, that is unless you can do major damage within 10 seconds. Maybe Maguro, the king of all perverts with first class skirt-raising logic, will be able to help him out with that.
