Hajime no Ippo – Ch. 886

Gene: Sweet mother of zombie Jesus. Shit is actually happening in an Ippo chapter. And it looks like Ippo still got it. I suppose it shouldn’t be too surprising since he’ll probably win this but it feels like forever since I’ve seen a live punch from him make contact. Too bad it was blocked and he got his head fucking slammed into the corner afterwards. The coach holding the towel at the end was a nice cliffhanger, but nothing more. Anyway, things are looking up a bit but this is still an embarrassing fight nonetheless and I don’t think anything can save it at this point.
Leon: Oh wow! Ippo actually did something? Woli actually flew through the air? Madness. But guess what? The noob was still glorified right at the very end of the chapter. So technically this is the same old crap again. Maybe Woli will get hit for real in the next chapter? I wouldn’t bet my life on it, that’s for sure.
Mahou Sensei Negima! – Ch. 282

Gene: So the whole ball incident is over and here we have a transition chapter. Right now the gang is heading towards Ostia and they know Fate is cooking up something big over there. Seems like they’re pretty ok with ditching Takamichi. I guess he’ll get his own ride there whenever he decides to show up. Negi’s Magia Erebea is taking more of a toll on him and he’s at the point where he even has to cover up the side effects to not let the others know and worry over him. Should I expect Dark Negi if it overcomes him? I won’t deny that I think that would pretty awesome. And lastly, Negi is going to confront Fake Asuna thanks to Rakan’s warning. This should be good. Especially if he decides to seduce her back to her original form.
Leon: Hmm. Dark Negi on the rise? It looks like Magia Erebea is starting to show up on its own. I can see that being a problem in the long run, especially if he gets emotionally agitated. That very likely will happen in the near future with Anya and the real Asuna still in captivity. The best thing about this chapter is at the very end when Negi confronts the fake Asuna. Good stuff. Really looking forward to seeing how he’ll handle this situation.
FAIRY TAIL – Ch. 174-175

Leon: Haha. Edoras/Edolas Natsu is an absolute wimp when he isn’t in a vehicle. That’s hilarious. I was wondering what his angle would be when he was revealed in the last chapter. All kidding aside though, chapter 174 was pretty emotional given that the king and the people of the royal city were rejoicing over the lacryma that is composed of Fairy Tail members. Natsu’s anger was so intense but Lucy had to beg him to bear with it. If they had tried anything then they would have been taken out without question.

Chapter 175 was uneventful for the most part outside of the group planning how they would inflitrate the castle to get to the king in order to find out how to save everyone. Charle kept on finding pieces of directions and somehow lead everyone to some underground cave. I had my suspicions earlier in the chapter that everything was going a little too well and wouldn’t you know: Natsu, Lucy, and Wendy have been captured by Edoras/Edolas Erza. Even worse, it seems that Charle’s ‘mission’ was to betray them from the very start. I’m sure it will be cleared up in the next chapter but things are looking too good at the moment. I’m really curious as to why they’re bowing to Charle and Happy too.
~Good Ending~ – Ch. 23-24

Gene: Fuckkk. Kurokawa’s old boyfriend is at that concert. And she still seems pretty hung over him. That’s bad news for Utsumi, but I saw it in a positive light as it pushed him to confess to her. Wasn’t expecting that at all and I love how the author isn’t dragging out the story. The flow feels more natural compared to the other shounen romance garbage I’ve been reading. Anyway, with this new development the manga is at a turning point and I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next.

Leon: Okay seriously. I really want to know about Yuki’s history with this Tooru guy. That expression of hers when she thought she saw him seemed almost like ‘devastation’ of some sort. He must have really done something cruel to her for it to still be an issue. It’s kind of funny that this happened though because, so far, it is a blessing in disguise for Utsumi because he was able to confess his feelings to Yuki. It may be an accidental confession but the point is that she knows his true feelings now. As a result we’ve reached a turning point and I’m looking forward to seeing where their relationship will go from here.
Gamaran – Ch. 38-39

Leon: Naoyoshi is sure one tough guy. He’s not even a martial artist and managed to impress the others with his resolve. The flashbacks in chapter 38 were pretty eye opening as far as his determination and limits go. It seems that if you insult his mother then he’s going to try and kill you. Brother or no brother. It looks like he’s had quite the tough life and wants power pretty badly. Good thing he has Gama, Shin, and Zenmaru on his side then.

Interestingly enough Ranmaru, who was shown at the castle a few chapters ago, shows up and at first seems to be there to fight Gama and the others but reveals that he’s there to help them out in chapter 39. He also reveals to them that Jinsuke is his master and that he along with Naoyoshi’s mother asked him to help out. That’s pretty weird if you ask me but he seems to be sincere. While on their way to the school they have to eliminate they encounter the Souen school who already lost the round. This school also contains the so-called “Murderous Blade” that took out so many schools in the past. It looks like Shin is going to take on all three of them alone though which is pretty crazy. He’ll probably take out the two goons with ease but that “Murderous Blade”-guy appears to be serious business.
