Mahou Sensei Negima! – Ch. 279

Gene: Not even Fate can keep the dead down. So this is his true goodbye. That scene even had Chisame breaking down in tears. But I couldn’t help but laugh at how she pointed Rakan out as a broken character. Oh Ken. Also thanks to Rakan, the cat is out of the bag concerning the fake Asuna. I was hoping Negi would seduce her to the point of transforming back, but this works too I guess. Right now Nodoka’s got her fighting spirit going on and is bringing the finger out. I’d be more excited if there was actually a point to getting the opponent’s name right now. Maybe she’s hiding a death note under that dress of hers.

Leon: Well it looks as if Rakan is really gone. For now. It’s a good thing he showed up when he did though because Negi’s overdrive was probably going to get him and the others in trouble. He even gave them some info on the Asuna that is with them now being a “fake”. It’s going to be interesting to see how they deal with that. It looks as if Nodoka is going to do something against that keyblade mage but I can’t imagine what. Surely she isn’t going to stab him to death with that finger?

FAIRY TAIL – Ch. 172

Leon: Whoa. The original Lucy is here! Now we have two Lucy’s in the same party! Oh man that’s beauty-overload right there but seeing them fight together will sure be interesting. The major question after this chapter though is why can (Earthland) Lucy still use magic freely while Natsu and Wendy are still unable to? Definitely weird stuff right there but it’s rather hilarious to see her get so arrogant when she realized what was going on. Natsu isn’t going to live this down in the future. Lastly, I wonder if there is anyone else from Fairy Tail wondering around Edoras?

Kimi no Iru Machi – Ch. 78.5-79

Gene: Chapter 78.5 is a flashback chapter concerning how Akari and Haruto and what’s his face met. This was an Akari-focused chapter so I enjoyed it for the most part. And I thought it was cool how Haruto and what’s his face stood up for her (though got their asses kicked), especially since I raged too when those faggots beat a girl up. I have to say there was one thing in this chapter that really bothered me and that was the color page with Haruto in it. I still cannot get over that he has brown hair. Seriously Seo, shade that shit if it’s brown. I keep getting the impression that he’s a blonde since you leave his hair clean in the manga. Fuck even what’s his face has brown hair and you shade that in, don’t you? /end rant

Chapter 79 leaves off where 78 left off with the sleep over and storytelling. Thanks to 78.5 some of the stuff discussed didn’t seem too random. Well actually it did to me since I read 78.5 afterwards. The only thing that’s really worth talking about is the kiss. Fuck I saw the spoilers on /a/ like a week ago, but reading it again it’s still surprising. Normally I would shout out “THAT SLUT” during a scene like that, but Akari’s too awesome for that. But shit, Haruto you gotta control your pimp hand. It’s going to bring on some serious rage someday. And knowing that this by the author of Suzuka, it’s more than likely.

Leon: The flashback chapter was rather nice. Why? Because it focused on Akari. It was nice to see how they met and shows that their friendship is quite strong. It also highlighted that Akari pretty much owned both Haruto and Takeshi when they were younger. I wonder if that still holds true in the present? Those three punks got on my nerves though because they thought they were all so might for beating up a girl. Glad to know they got theirs the next day. Like Gene, I was also surprised about Haruto’s hair color. I could’ve sworn it was blonde or something.

Chapter 79 was pretty uneventful for the most part. Of course, except for the only notable thing that happened: Akari kissing Haruto. Lucky bastard. Some day he’s going to get some serious heat over letting things like that happen though.

Gamaran – Ch. 35-36

Leon: This fight is getting intense! Zenmaru is an absolute beast to be able to hold and swing that massively long sword. Those poor fools never had a chance and were instantly sliced in half. Flawless victory! One of the ninjas did get away but I doubt he’ll be able to do anything important. Meanwhile, Gama has finally figured out Saizou’s technique and was able to get moving again while Naoyoshi bought him some time by indirectly having Muraku and Saizou mix it up a little. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

~Good Ending~ – Ch. 20

Gene: Son of a bitch! So Kukokawa is going to start dating again. I was hoping her first date would be Utsumi, but it looks like it’s going to be with some random asshole. Of course, we don’t know if he’s really a bad guy or not from just rumors, but I don’t like it. Usually I’d hate it when a protagonist starts stalking his love interest, but for some reason I actually approve in this case. It must be that rape imagery that was implanted in a previous chapter. I just hope he doesn’t get caught and fucked over.

Also what the hell, Risa used to be a man before? I knew it! Oh wait, she’s just really fat in that panel.

Leon: Utsumi really can’t catch a break here. I don’t understand Yuki’s decision to go on a date with this guy that suddenly showed up out of no where. It sounds like she’s just doing it for charity rather than to avoid “feeling bad” from rejecting people. Heck, she already told Eri that she doesn’t “think anything” about Utsumi. Whatever that means (even if she was lying). It’s going to be interesting to see what happens when he tries to follow Yuki on her date. Anyway, Risa was shown to be even more gorgeous in this chapter with her hair out and in her uniform. It’s amazing how she was able to diet to the shape she has now and it’s obvious that Utsumi seems to be one of the very few people she can openly talk to. If that isn’t an obvious setup for potential romance, I don’t know what is. Unless Utsumi gets screwed over yet again.
