Hajime no Ippo – Ch. 882

Gene: Stop the motherfucking presses, people. Ippo got a hit in. And it did absolutely no damage whatsoever. Still, it’s progress. Sorta. With this sudden new development, should I expect the same for the next chapter? And the next? I don’t want to get my hopes up, but I’m a bit excited to think that stuff is actually happening in this manga again.

Leon: Is this chapter supposed to mark some progress or something? Seemed like the same crap we’ve been seeing for the past few weeks if you ask me even if Ippo got a hit in. Though the more accurate description would be a ‘tap’ because it was an absolute joke. I can’t figure out why I’m still reading this match but I suppose it’s to see how this train-wreck will be concluded.

Mahou Sensei Negima! – Ch. 277

Gene: Ken is on a killing spree here taking out as many side characters as he can. Of course, that’s what I’d like to think. The choice of word rewrite seems a bit too convenient for this situation. I mean you can always write something back. Maybe if this chapter screamed “erase!” I’d be more on my toes, but with what’s given I can’t help but shake the feeling of an incoming deus ex machina mass revival. Despite that, the chapter was still fairly exciting with people being taken out here and there. One peculiar thing I noticed was that this rewrite stuff didn’t affect Yue (her clothes not included). The beam just went straight through her. Now she’s no Asuna so maybe this is something that affects only people from the magical world.

Leon: Let’s see here. It seems this rewrite command affects only residents of the magical world as evidenced by Yue not being disintegrated. There’s also that bit the dark robed guy at the beginning said about “dreams to dreams” and “illusion to illusion”. Everyone in the magical world couldn’t be someone’s dream or illusion…right? That’d be a pretty insane revelation if you ask me. Though now that I think about it…doesn’t this mean that Negi himself is susceptible to all this rewrite stuff?!

FAIRY TAIL – Ch. 170

Leon: Hmm, this arc is turning out to be a lot more interesting. The Fairy Tail of Edras is pretty much a parallel version of the one from Earthland. Most members are different from their Earthland counterparts with the hilarious exception of Mira. Somehow I know expect her to be the same in any other parallel world. It was surprising to see that Edras’ Erza is an enemy though and I think it’d be pretty awesome of Earthland Erza went up against her. There are still a few characters we haven’t seen yet but I’m curious about Edras’ Natsu.

Kimi no Iru Machi – Ch. 78

Gene: This was a pretty boring chapter. As expected Haruto tries to make up with his friends before heading out to Tokyo. They share their feelings and their friendship is back on track. All that leaves is Kanzaki’s good bye and I hope that’s more eventful than what happened here. Well if Kanzaki’s there I’ll enjoy the chapter either way but generally I like it when shit actually happens.

Leon: I should have expected they would all make up before the departure to Tokyo. Even so it was all pretty uneventful but there’s still hope that Kanzaki will be a bit more interesting with her temporary goodbye/farewell. Other than that I just want this Tokyo-thing to manifest so I can finally understand what is going on with Yuzuki.

Gamaran – Ch. 34

Leon: Uh oh. Gama is in trouble. I don’t even know how that ninja guy managed to paralyze him. It’s not like he touched him (as far as the naked eye can tell) and that weapon he blocked didn’t seem to be coated with anything. Then again it probably is something that we couldn’t see normally (like a needle). Either way he’s going to be needing some help very soon now that he has to deal with Saizou and Muraku.
