Hajime no Ippo – Ch. 881

Gene: Short chapter this week. And unsurprisingly nothing much has happened. And even with the low page count that was what I was expecting. The only thing that’s worth noting was how the chapter just suddenly ended. Like it wasn’t even building up or there was no cliffhanger. There was just.. no more to it which seemed really odd to me. Maybe Morikawa himself got fed up with this shit and stopped.
Leon: I think Morikawa is just trolling us now. Not only did nothing happen, like always, but the chapter was cut short with a seriously abrupt ending. This match better end with Ippo literally knocking Woli’s head off his shoulders because that’s the only way this match can be saved.
FAIRY TAIL – Ch. 168-169

Leon: These back-to-back chapters were something else. Firstly, all of Fairy Tail has disappeared into a world called Edoras and then it is revealed that Happy and Charle are residents from that world with some mysterious mission. Whatever it is must be really seedy for Charle not want to reveal it. The second and final thing that had my head swinging was how we now have a reverse Fairy Tail guild in Edoras where pretty much everyone’s personalities have taken a 180-degree turn. Then we’re given a rather intense close-up of bad-girl Lucy’s crotch who looks ready to deliver some pain to Natsu and the others. Crazy stuff. I can’t begin to imagine what others like Erza and Mira will be like once they show up.
Kimi no Iru Machi – Ch. 77

Gene: Damn. Akari didn’t need to go that far and call him a sissy pants. No wonder Haruto is all depressed at the end. In any case, I was actually sorta expecting his friends to cheer him on, but thinking about it now moving to Tokyo for the sake of Eba is pretty extreme (stalkerish actually). But I like how he’s grown some balls in the situation and is taking charge (though I prefer he’d get over it and take Kanzaki already). Despite this argument, his friends will probably still say goodbye to him before he leaves.
Leon: Mirroring Gene, I didn’t really expect Haruto’s friends to cheer him on. In all honesty what he’s doing is really stupid especially since he has no idea what’s going on in Tokyo right now. Pining for your girl is all fine and dandy but when you’re leaving behind your friends who you knew for pretty much your entire life, you can’t treat that situation lightly. It’s no wonder Akari was so pissed. Like Gene said, they might still see him off but that’s almost to be expected from a manga.
Gamaran – Ch. 33

Leon: Looks like Gama has some SERIOUS BUSINESS to take care of. Muraku appears to be more than capable of taking care of himself. That and he seems to be a freak. He doesn’t seem to be that crazy though since he pretty much let Gama go when that lame ninja appeared. I just don’t like that guy and I honestly don’t care who kills him in this upcoming three-way battle. Gama vs. Muraki is easily the better fight here but Naoyoshi better get out of there before he’s killed!
GTO: Shonan 14 Days – Ch. 21

Gene: Awesome. Like I was anticipating the next arc is starting up. Besides a few laughs, the content was a bit serious with the kid’s past being covered a bit. I wonder what kind of tattoo he has. Maybe he’s pissed about it because it’s a giant dong. Also I thought it was pretty interesting how the yakuza dad from before is being brought into this arc. For now he’s just the kid’s merchant and not too involved, but that could change later.
