To Aru Kagaku no Railgun ep. 4

Now that’s what I’m talking about. Albeit this didn’t move the plot that much it set up and explained quite a few interesting things. First off is how Touma and biri biri met. The middle school girl comment had me laughing and the whole thing was just amusing with Touma trying to save Misaka, but then she refuses as if he’s doing something wrong. Touma and his Imagine Breaker ability have been in her mind since then and have brought us to the meeting of the sexy, awkward scientist Harumi. By the way, I deeply approve of her undressing ways. She’s a character who thinks a bit too logically which is a common trait in oddball scientists though she’s a welcome addition to the Railgun cast. Considering she’s the only scientist introduced in this series so far, I think it’s a safe bet she’ll be involved in the upcoming Misaka project. Given her shown interested in biri biri, I wouldn’t be surprised if she was the one who proposed the thing. In any case, I’m interested in seeing how it all began. I just wonder how long it will take the anime to dive into that because the manga is still on-going last time I heard.

The second half of the episode is where the action kicks off. Railgun vs Imagine Breaker was a really fun fight and J.C. Staff got to show some superb animation there. Initially, I thought biri biri just had the railgun technique and basic shock attacks, but she demonstrated other ingenious methods to use her ability. And with the great action atmosphere building up, the climax ended it wonderfully with a full-on HNNNGGGG scene from a cowering biri biri. With this episode and this week’s Kimi ni Todoke, I’m already overdosed. My heart can’t take much more. The best moments from Misaka are no doubt her interactions with Touma which was especially exemplified here. I think Index watchers have been waiting for this episode from the start and it delivered in spades. With that said, I’m really looking forward to seeing more of him as long as he doesn’t start preaching all of a sudden because he actually is a fun to watch character otherwise.
Two more notes. It’s hard to get a gist of what’s happening in the preview and it looks Uihara centered judging from the title which feels disappointing considering how great of a note this episode left us. But as long as it’s not some bullshit in disguise episode like the previous one, I don’t think I’ll have too many complaints. Second note is ohgawd Saten in casual clothes fapfapfap.

[...] off the watching and blogging of this episode due to Index trauma. But was relieved that there was no preaching and even enjoyed the way he teased Oneesama and treated her like a kid but most of all, in Dav's [...]
I especially enjoyed the chemistry between touma and mikoto. Bravo to touma for successfully making mikoto into deredere mode XD. I grinned at the mention of “tsundere”. The fight is enjoyable but touma’s funny fake defeat and mikoto’s frightened face is just the moment of gold ^^
